Associate Pastor

Level : Staff Leadership Team

Employment: Part-Time (20–30 Hours/Week) designed to become Full-Time

We are excited to announce an opening for an Associate Pastor to join our ministry team. We

are looking for a servant-leader with a visible passion for Jesus, a heart for the local church, and

a desire to help people follow Christ deeply in everyday life. The primary focus of this role is

helping students become lifelong followers of Jesus through intentional discipleship and

relational investment so that the next generation is rooted in a lasting and authentic faith. This

person will also assist the Lead Pastor in the overall ministry and leadership of the church;

having the opportunity to preach in a mentored setting, and cultivate a healthy church culture

marked by integrity, ownership, excellence, teachability, and multiplication.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Ministry Leadership

● Lead and grow RLC Students through biblical teaching, relational discipleship, and

meaningful connection with students and families

● Create environments where students are known, challenged, and encouraged in their faith

● Help students grow in biblical understanding, spiritual maturity, and authentic Christian community

● Expand youth ministry gatherings from once a month to at least twice monthly

● Recruit, train, and develop volunteers and future leaders

Pastoral Leadership & Ministry Support

● Assist the Lead Pastor in carrying the load of ministry

● Participate in church leadership, planning, and the day-to-day ministry life of the church

● Help strengthen ministry organization, communication, and follow-through

● Provide pastoral care, discipleship, and relational ministry support

Preaching & Teaching

● Opportunity to preach in a mentored setting

● Assist in teaching and discipleship environments

● Teach and communicate Scripture faithfully and practically

REQUIREMENTS:

● Ordained or eligible for ordination (CMC) within the Free Methodist Church

● Strong commitment to biblical teaching and Free Methodist theology

● Growing relationship with Jesus Christ

● Strong relational and communication skills

● Self-motivated, teachable, and dependable

● Passion for discipling students and developing leaders

● Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
